TENDER DESCRIPTION

Erlanger Stadtwerke AG (ESTW) intends to build a new, future-proof district heating network in the western part of the city, in the Büchenbach district. With the new district heating network for the supply area “Büchenbach West”, it is intended both to decarbonise the existing five district heating plants and to connect further potential supply areas to a common heating plant. The heating plant is to be supplied exclusively with renewable energies as the heat source. Due to the chosen location of the future heating plant in the immediate vicinity of agricultural land, the use of shallow geothermal energy in the form of agri-thermal (Agrothermie) is preferred. In combination with other heat sources, this is intended to ensure the supply security of the district heating network. The goal is long-term, climate-friendly and economically viable heat supply based exclusively on renewable energies.
