TENDER DESCRIPTION
Erlanger Stadtwerke AG (ESTW) intends to set up a new, future-proof district heating network in the western part of the city, in the Büchenbach district. With the new district heating network for the supply area “Büchenbach West”, both the existing five district heating plants are to be decarbonised and additional potential supply areas are to be connected to a common heating plant. The heating plant is to be supplied exclusively with renewable energy sources as the heat source. Due to the selected location of the future heating plant in the immediate vicinity of land used for agriculture, the use of shallow geothermal energy in the form of agro-thermal geothermal energy (Agrothermie) is favoured. In combination with other heat sources, this is intended to ensure security of supply for the district heating network. The aim is to provide long-term, climate-friendly and economically efficient heat supply based exclusively on renewable energies.
