TENDER DESCRIPTION

The subject of the procurement is an oral healthcare service (a dentist–dental nurse pair and a dental hygienist) for 120 long-term patients at Ohkola Hospital (Ohkolantie 10, Kellokoski), almost all of whom have a diagnosis of a psychotic disorder. A psychotic disorder often includes impaired functional ability, which may also be manifested as an insufficient ability to take care of one’s own oral hygiene. In addition, often the lack of life management and functional ability is associated, from the perspective of oral health, with harmful eating habits and/or for example the use of nicotine products. The need for dental care is extensive and previous dental care has often remained unimplemented over a long period of time. The patients’ care time at the hospital is long-term; the average care period is several years. The service is provided in the premises of Ohkola Hospital using the service provider’s supplies/equipment (the premises must be able to be used also for other activities on the days when dental care is not provided) or in the service provider’s mobile service regularly on pre-agreed days, for example 1 day per week, in the outdoor area of Ohkola Hospital.
