Design of a smart parking system related to the project “Smart solutions and infrastructure development of Hóvirág Street in Hajdúszoboszló” /TOP_PLUSZ-1.2.1-21-HB1-2022-00045/. A city’s transport system fundamentally affects the quality of life of the residents living there and the competitiveness of the businesses operating there. In particular, in the city centre, in the area around the spa, it is typical that a significant part of the cars are looking for parking spaces; therefore, a parking-optimising solution noticeably improves the well-being of residents and tourists and the efficiency of the entire transport system. In addition, analysing data provides an opportunity to develop the cities’ transport and parking infrastructure and to ensure easier parking. A surface/portal providing historical and real-time statistical reports also needs to be created, which makes it possible to monitor occupancy data of parking spaces and to prepare statistical reports. Along with the design of the system, it is necessary to provide a mobile application that allows the occupancy/utilisation of the parking spaces to be monitored continuously for the operator and for users.
