TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Environmental Health Care team of the Department of Health is responsible for the preparation, implementation and substantiation of preventive health policy relating to environmental health care in Flanders. Environmental health care is the part of the preventive health policy that, through a multidisciplinary approach, with at least the scientific disciplines of medicine, toxicology, epidemiology, health care, environmental technology and environmental science, focuses on preventing, early detection and intervention of damage to environmental health. Within the Flemish Medical Environmental Network (VMMN), the team works for this purpose together with various public authorities, research institutions and partner organisations. The core activities of the team include, among other things, climate and health, risk analysis, promoting a healthy public space, environmental health-related focus areas, recreational and drinking water quality, indoor environment, nature-health and soil-health.
