TENDER DESCRIPTION

Funding is available from the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) as well as own funds of the state capital Potsdam (LHP) for the planning and construction implementation, which are to be implemented and settled with the grant provider by the end of 2028. The aim of the BBSR funding (Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development) is the development of exemplary open space typologies for climate adaptation at 5 locations (sub-areas) in the LHP urban area, which should serve as models for the upgrading and climate-adapted design of green spaces of similar open spaces in the various social environments of Potsdam. Untapped potentials are to be demonstrated through measures to bind CO2, reduce heat stress and improve water retention, showing how climate adaptation, usage quality and quantity can be permanently increased and linked.
