The IHK Akademie Schwaben Arbeit und Bildung GmbH is one of the large providers of continuing education for vocational training in Swabia. Our task is to prepare people in the region for new technological, commercial or social requirements in the labour market. To this end, we offer timely, practice-oriented, location-based and comprehensive continuing education opportunities throughout Bavarian Swabia. Our educational offerings help to expand and adapt the vocational qualifications of specialists in the region. The IHK Akademie operates the Bildungszentrum Campus Neu-Ulm in a former officers’ casino, built in 1937. In 2000, the existing building was extended to the east with an addition - consisting of an intermediate building and new construction. Due to an upcoming roof renovation, a cost-effectiveness analysis was carried out regarding renovation of the entire building. The decision was made in favour of a comprehensive renovation on the basis of a renovation concept. The roof structure of the existing building will be completely dismantled and replaced by a full storey with a shed roof in timber-frame construction.
