TENDER DESCRIPTION

Pursuant to a resolution of the Hamburg Senate, new design water levels for public flood protection facilities in Hamburg have applied since 2012, which results in the adaptation of all flood protection system (HWS) facilities. For this purpose, the Hamburg main dike line will be strengthened step by step until 2050 as part of the flood protection construction programme. In the southeast of Finkenwerder there is the Aue main dike, 1,441 m long, which is designed as a secondary (inner) dike. This is to be raised accordingly by 0.90 m to a target level of NHN +8.60 m. During the planning for the raising of the dike, it was determined that future climate changes and the associated changing water levels should be taken into account in order to implement the subsequent raising of the Aue main dike as easily and sustainably as possible. For this purpose, a 2nd stage of expansion with the planning horizon 2100 was established. The target level of the dike was set for the 2nd expansion stage at NHN +9.40 m.
