TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Zoological Garden Schwerin gGmbH intends to implement a supra-regional "lighthouse project" and thus the concept of a sustainable educational location within the framework of the "ZooCampus" project on the site of the former director's house in the southwest corner of the zoo. The Zoocampus is intended as a new important, publicly effective component to further strengthen the attractiveness of the Schwerin Zoo as well as to sustainably eliminate current problems with accessibility and delivery, internal logistics, and working conditions for employees. The planning area includes the southwest corner of the extensive property of the Schwerin Zoo (including an expansion area) and involves the functional restructuring, integration, and enhancement of the currently scarcely used part of the zoo grounds. Characteristic of the planning task is the new settlement and interweaving of various uses, consisting of the public ZooCampus, located on the plateau of the former director's house, which is embedded in the "Zoo circular path" and occupies the southwestern outskirts of the visitor area.
