TENDER DESCRIPTION

The former Plaue lock located in the Woltersdorf Old Canal at km 3.15 belongs to the external district of Brandenburg of the WSA Spree-Havel. It consists of 2 separate lock chambers. After several conversion measures in 1823, the southern chamber was fitted with a massive clinker-brick wall. In 1930, the lock lost functionality and was converted into a weir. Since 1972, a lock-gate weir made of a steel structure has been used as the closure element. The damage pattern of the masonry of the former lock chamber ranges from deeply washed-out joints to vertical and horizontal cracks through the masonry, up to masonry parts that have fallen off and have been dislodged by frost. In particular, for the rehabilitation of the facility, a concept that is appropriate to the monument heritage must be designed, which includes the rehabilitation of the facility walls, the upper head (upper gate structure), the lock equipment, and the planning of new flap beams/dam beams.
