TENDER DESCRIPTION

The subject of the public contract is the construction of a new tourist information centre, the reconstruction of the existing engine house, compressor house and two winding towers, as part of the revitalisation of the premises of the former Gabriela coal mine in Karviná. The mine has been closed since 2000 and is protected as a listed cultural monument. The tourist information centre building will serve the entire site and will include a bistro providing services for visitors to the site. After completion of the construction of POHO Park Gabriela, these structures will be used for civic amenities and for cultural, social and sporting events. The revitalisation of the premises of the former Gabriela coal mine will also include landscaping works, including the construction of an irrigation system on the vegetated roof of the new tourist information centre, the construction of a car park, and the arrangement of a new paved pedestrian area between the turntable and the existing engine-house building for relaxation and outdoor activities.
