TENDER DESCRIPTION

The paper stream includes newspapers-magazines (PJM) and may marginally contain cardboards and brown cartons that are not to be considered as sorting rejects, and sorting rejects. From 1 January 2023 to 31 August 2026, the two member local authorities of SMIRITOM tried to implement selective collection into fibrous and non-fibrous streams, with cardboards in principle to be deposited with the paper stream, a guideline that never really caught on among the population; the proportion of cardboards within the stream has always remained very low. On 1 September, a communication campaign will announce the change in collection method with a return to a paper-only stream and a packaging stream with cardboards. This paradigm shift should contribute to further reducing the presence of cardboards within the paper stream compared to the results of the consultation presented.
