TENDER DESCRIPTION

The industrial bioeconomy offers enormous potential for sustainable growth by replacing fossil raw materials with renewable biological resources, achieving climate targets and strengthening competitiveness. In research and development of bioeconomy-based products and processes, Germany is well positioned. The previous funding measures of other ministries and the federal states show that bioeconomy-based products and processes can be implemented on a laboratory scale. However, there is a lack of broad implementation of bioeconomy-based products and processes at an industrial scale. Therefore, in order to support the transformation of the economy into a sustainable, climate-neutral economic form, the funding programme “Industrial Bioeconomy” was initiated, which started on 29 December 2020 with the entry into force of the “Guideline for the promotion of the use and construction of demonstration facilities for the industrial bioeconomy” of 16 December 2020 (BAnz AT 28.12.2020 B2).
