DB InfraGO AG’s “Bike & Ride-Offensive” supports municipalities in the context of the National Climate Protection Initiative (NKI) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN) with the expansion of bicycle parking facilities at railway stations. New options for parking bicycles are to be created at numerous sites in the immediate vicinity of railway stations. The aim is to make the switch from car to “Bike & Ride” easier by aligning railway stations more closely with the needs of cyclists and offering sufficiently safe and well-structured parking spaces. To enable the planned capacity to be implemented promptly and efficiently, far-reaching standardisation is planned for both the processes and the bicycle parking facilities. In this connection, DB InfraGO AG – as a service for interested municipalities – conducts the present Europe-wide invitation to tender in the open procedure for the award of a framework agreement.
