TENDER DESCRIPTION

The subject of this tender is the cleaning of concrete and steel surfaces of the entire Berching lock facility. This includes the lock chamber, the two longitudinal channels, the entire bottom drainage system, the upper inlet funnel, as well as the entire pump channel including the inlet area. Additionally, the 3 side basins including their inlets into the bottom drainage system are included. For all components of the lock facility, practically the entire dewatered area between the upper and lower underwater inspection valves of the lock chamber and the pump channel must be cleaned. In addition, all steel surfaces such as the upper and lower gates, as well as all closures of the longitudinal channels and side basins, both inside and outside, must be cleaned. The lock chamber and the pump channel will be dewatered by the contracting authority (CA) for the purpose of cleaning. The cleaning work is a prerequisite for conducting a proper structural inspection according to VV-WSV 2101. The concrete and steel surfaces to be cleaned are predominantly covered with sludge, algae, and mussels.
