TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Metropolis of Lyon is responsible for the collection and processing of household waste and similar waste (Article L5215-20 of the General Code of Local Authorities) in the 58 municipalities in its territory, i.e. a population of 1,433,613 inhabitants (source Insee 01/01/2024). In this capacity, it carries out collection on a door-to-door basis or through voluntary drop-off of municipal waste, separate collection of dry recyclables (paper and packaging), glass and bio-waste. It provides its residents with a network of 19 transfer stations to collect waste that is not covered by traditional collection systems. Additional services are also provided, such as mobile transfer stations or green waste drop-off points. The objectives pursued by the Metropolis of Lyon in implementing transfer stations are: - recovery of materials originating from household waste, - reducing the share of waste destined for landfill, - keeping the area clean and preventing illegal dumping, - enhancing its public image.
