TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Lyon Metropolis is responsible for the collection and processing of household waste and similar waste (Article L5215-20 of the General Code of Local Authorities) in the 58 communes in its territory, i.e. a population of 1,433,613 inhabitants (source Insee 01/01/2024). In this capacity, it carries out door-to-door collection or drop-off collection of household waste, separate collection of dry recyclables (papers and packaging), glass and bio-waste. It provides its residents with a network of 19 recycling centres to collect waste not covered by traditional collection systems. Additional services are also set up, such as mobile recycling centres or green waste drop-off points. The objectives pursued by the Lyon Metropolis in setting up recycling centres are: - the recovery of materials from household waste, - reducing the share of waste intended for landfill, - cleanliness of the territory and preventing fly-tipping, - enhancing its public image.
