TENDER DESCRIPTION

To accommodate the expected visitor flows after the opening of the Abbey Church, a modern, barrier-free accessible toilet facility is to be created. For its implementation, the unused rooms of the former student association in the basement of the gate wing are considered particularly suitable due to their central location in the access area of the monastery complex. For the future planned new visitor center "Kloster Michaelsberg," a central entrance will be created, located in the basement of the gate wing and thus directly in the access area of the monastery complex. Through a spacious round-arched gate in the middle of the gate wing, the visitor first enters an anteroom from which the new public WC facility can be accessed barrier-free on the right-hand side. An automatic glass sliding door system, placed behind the gate system, serves climate separation. By restoring a former, currently bricked-up passage in the northern corridor wall, a connection is made to the small vaulted hall adjoining to the north, which is three bays wide and three aisles deep and formerly served as a lounge for the student association.
