TENDER DESCRIPTION

A modern, barrier-free accessible toilet facility is to be created for the expected visitor flows after the opening of the abbey church. For its realization, the unused rooms of the former student fraternity in the basement of the gate wing are considered particularly suitable as a location due to their central position in the access area of the monastery complex. For the future planned new visitor center "Kloster Michaelsberg," a central entrance is being created, which is located in the basement of the gate wing and thus lies directly in the access area to the monastery complex. Through a spacious, round-arched gate in the middle of the gate wing, the visitor first enters an anteroom from which the new public WC facility can be reached barrier-free on the right. An automatic glass sliding door system, positioned behind the gate system, serves as climatic separation. By restoring a former, currently bricked-up passage in the northern corridor wall, the connection is made to the small vaulted hall adjoining it to the north, which is three bays wide and three aisles deep, and formerly served as a lounge for the student fraternity.
