TENDER DESCRIPTION

For the expected visitor flows after the opening of the abbey church, a modern, barrier-free accessible toilet facility is to be created, for which the unused rooms of the former student association in the basement of the gate wing are considered particularly suitable as a location due to their central position in the access area of the monastery complex. For the planned new visitor center "Kloster Michaelsberg," a central entrance is created, which is housed in the basement of the gate wing and thus lies directly in the access area to the monastery complex. Visitors first enter an anteroom through a spacious, round-arched gate located centrally in the gate wing, from which the new public toilet facility can be accessed barrier-free on the right-hand side. An automatic glass sliding door system, positioned behind the gate system, serves for climate separation. By restoring a former, currently bricked-up passage in the northern corridor wall, connection is made to the small vaulted hall adjacent to the north, which is three bays wide and three nave-lengths deep and formerly served as a lounge for the student association.
