For the expected visitor flows after the opening of the abbey church, a modern, barrier-free accessible toilet facility is to be created, for which the unused rooms of the former student association in the basement of the gate wing are considered particularly suitable as a location due to their central location in the access area of the monastery complex. For the future planned new visitor center "Kloster Michaelsberg," a central entrance is created, which is located in the basement of the gate wing and thus lies directly in the access area to the monastery complex. Through a spacious, rounded arch gate in the middle of the gate wing, the visitor first enters an anteroom, from which the new public WC facility can be accessed barrier-free on the right. An automatic glass sliding door system, which is positioned behind the gate, serves for climatic separation. By restoring a former passage currently bricked up in the northern corridor wall, it is possible to connect to the small vaulted hall located to the north adjacent, which is three bays wide and three aisles deep, formerly served as a lounge for the student association.
