TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Strelasund Bridge is a steel bridge on the DB line 6321 from Stralsund to Saßnitz. In the section Stralsund Rügendamm – Altefähr, at railway kilometre 228,405, it spans over the Strelasund. Parallel to the EÜ, the road overpass of the L296 runs. Both bridges are founded on the same bridge piers. The original Strelasund Bridge was commissioned in 1936. In 1989 a major refurbishment was carried out, including the installation of the current superstructures. The entire bridge is 540 m long and is divided into 10 spans of 54 m each. A comprehensive full renewal of the corrosion protection is planned. The road-side service path as well as the cable duct beneath the service-path cover plates were already rebuilt in 2026 and provided with corrosion protection. In the planned construction measure from 2027 to 2023, the main part of the EÜ is to receive a new coating, including the load-bearing H-beams and the catenary consoles. This means that from 2031 onwards the structure will have new corrosion protection in its entirety.
