TENDER DESCRIPTION

The listed Gothic cathedral St. Nikolaus in Stendal (construction start approx. 1420) is an outstanding example of Hanseatic north German brick architecture, characterized as a prominent feature by the large stock of original lead-glass windows. In the planned measure (3rd construction phase), restoration of the walls and vaults and restoration work are provided for in the nave and in the south transept. On the brick surfaces of the interior walls and of the columns there is a white paint finish (1950), which is to be removed and produced with a red-coloured distemper/adhesive paint retouching or with a new finish in the room-typical brick red. The vaults have been painted with lime paint or distemper/adhesive paint. Renewal of these paint coatings is part of the services being tendered. Preparatory work such as crack repairs, plaster touch-ups and -stabilisations including the necessary caulking/filling is also part of the services to be provided. In a 1st / 2nd construction section, a sample axis and the treatment of the north transept with crossing bay have been completed.
