TENDER DESCRIPTION

The listed Gothic St. Nikolaus Cathedral in Stendal is a high-quality testimony to Hanseatic North German building culture; as a distinctive feature, it is characterized by the preservation of a large stock of original leaded glass windows. As a result of war damage (WWII), parts of the original glazing in the nave were lost and were provided with rectangular clear-glass lead glazing. All stained-glass windows affected by the construction measures on the walls and ceilings of the nave and the south transept, including side chapels, must be protected against soiling and against mechanical damage during the construction work. The protection of the glazing made of chipboard panels and films must be provided in such a way that temporary ventilation is possible at the bottom and top of the window. The protective measures are to be provided in connection with the scaffolding construction work. The scaffolding to be provided by the contractor shall be erected in 3 separate sections. The holding available and maintenance of the protective measures is to be ensured over the entire construction period of approximately 5–6 months per section.
