TENDER DESCRIPTION

The site of the former shaft system and coking plant General Blumenthal 11 was previously used as a mining and coking location. After decommissioning, measures for the dismantling of operational facilities were carried out in several steps. Essentially, the facilities and structures were dismantled above ground to about 0.5 m below the surface level (GOK). The site of the former shaft system and coking plant General Blumenthal 11 is located in Herne in the district of Wanne and has a total area of approximately 33 ha. The General Blumenthal 11 site is bordered to the north and northwest by the rail tracks of the main and freight station Wanne-Eickel and the Wanne-Herne Railway (WHE). To the east, the site is also framed by a rail track as well as Bielefelder Straße. To the west, it borders directly on the Herne combined heat and power plant (Heizkraftwerk Herne) and Kastanienallee. To the southwest, Sennestraße, and to the northwest, Am Böckenbusch street form the area boundaries. The northern part of the site was already renovated in 2018.
