TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Emscher-Mündung Wastewater Treatment Plant (KLEM), operated by the Emscher Cooperative and Lippeverband (EGLV), treats the wastewater of a partial catchment area around the former surface channel Emscher. Today, the treatment plant (TP) is supplied through a wastewater channel with upstream pumping stations. It treats the wastewater of approximately 1,000,000 inhabitants and is thus one of the largest plants in NRW. The wastewater to be treated consists both of domestic sewage and industrial wastewater from the mining-influenced Ruhr area. The Emscher Cooperative plans the complete reconstruction of the sludge treatment, which has been partially in operation for 50 years at the Emscher-Mündung Treatment Plant, the renovation of the three digesters, and their conversion to continuous operation. As a utility corridor between the sludge treatment and the inflow, the currently wastewater-carrying trapezoidal profile channel will be repurposed and expanded with a branch towards digestion.
