TENDER DESCRIPTION
The University of Edinburgh is conducting a tender exercise to appoint a Supplier to deliver "Scottish Future Electricity Demand Scenarios" - a ClimateXChange project commissioned on behalf of the Scottish Government. ClimateXChange (CXC) wishes to commission research on electricity system modelling for future electricity demand scenarios for Scotland. Increased demand is expected to be placed on electricity supply in future with heat and transport decarbonisation plus significant new demands e.g. from data centres. This project will address a number of evidence gaps, including updating the analytical evidence base to support policy development. The project will provide a partial update to previous work published by ClimateXChange in 2022 (Scottish whole energy system scenarios). The findings from the successful supplier of this work will provide the Scottish Government with an understanding of the dynamics and dependencies of the future electricity system, including how this aligns with emissions estimates as Scotland moves to a net zero economy.
