TENDER DESCRIPTION

The former Klostergang elementary school is being converted into a cultural and educational center (KuBiZ) with a library, adult education center, archive, auditorium, and central foyer. A new shared main entrance leads into the centrally located foyer that connects both buildings. Large glass surfaces open this area to the square and create a bright, communicative centerpiece of the ensemble. The Holländer wing is being repurposed into a two-story library. The existing structure remains largely preserved, the roof structure is renewed, and the facade is insulated and equipped with a new clinker brick tile ETICS facade. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide a direct connection to the outdoor space. Along the facades, reading and lounge areas are created, offering views of the surrounding environment. A central indoor staircase with an airspace connects the ground floor and basement and optimizes spatial usage. In the building of the former Klostergang school, rooms for the adult education center and museum archive are created. The existing brick masonry is cleaned and refurbished.
