TENDER DESCRIPTION

The former elementary school Klostergang is being converted into a cultural and educational center (KuBiZ) with library, adult education center, archive, auditorium, and central foyer. A new common main entrance leads into the centrally located foyer that connects both buildings. Large glazing opens this area to the square and forms a bright, communicative center of the ensemble. The Dutch wing is being re-purposed into a two-story library. The existing structure is largely preserved, the roof construction is renewed, and the facade is insulated and fitted with a new clinker brick veneer thermal insulation composite system facade. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide a direct connection to the outdoor area. Reading and lounge areas are created along the facades, allowing views of the surrounding environment. A central indoor staircase with an open space connects the ground floor and basement, optimizing spatial use. In the former school building Klostergang, rooms for the adult education center and the museum archive are created. The existing brick masonry is cleaned and repaired.
