TENDER DESCRIPTION

The former elementary school Klostergang is being converted into a cultural and educational center (KuBiZ) with a library, adult education center, archive, auditorium, and central foyer. A new shared main entrance leads into the centrally located foyer that connects both buildings. Large glazing opens this area towards the square, forming a bright, communicative focal point of the ensemble. The Holländertrakt is being repurposed into a two-story library. The existing structure is largely preserved, the roof construction is renewed, and the facade is insulated and equipped with a new clinker brickwork ETICS facade. Floor-to-ceiling windows create a direct connection to the outside. Reading and lounge areas are created along the facades, offering views of the surrounding environment. A central interior staircase with an open space connects the ground floor and basement and optimizes spatial usage. The building of the former Klostergang school houses the rooms for the adult education center and the museum archive. The existing brick masonry is cleaned and restored.
