TENDER DESCRIPTION

The City of Bochum (hereinafter "contracting authority") faces the challenge of meeting the continuously growing demand for space arising from the increasing number of school enrolments in the City of Bochum. In this context, in addition to the need for renovation and maintenance measures for existing school buildings, there is a significant need to create new sports and learning spaces. Under the School Act, the contracting authority is required to carry out school development planning. To fulfil this statutory obligation, the contracting authority intends to meet the growing need for space within the scope of a comprehensive school construction and school modernization programme. This includes the required new-build, extension and renovation measures for 27 educational facilities. The programme covers all types of schools and applies to primary, special-needs and secondary schools. The Gesamtschule Mitte is to be expanded from four to six forms and is part of the City of Bochum’s school construction programme.
