TENDER DESCRIPTION

As the school authority, the City of Bochum (hereinafter “contracting authority”) faces the challenge of meeting the steadily growing demand for space due to the increasing number of school enrolments in the City of Bochum. In this context, in addition to the need for renovation and preservation measures for already existing school buildings, there is a significant need to create new sports and learning rooms. Under the School Act, the contracting authority is required to carry out school development planning. To fulfil this legal obligation, the contracting authority plans to address the growing demand for space as part of a comprehensive school construction and school modernisation programme. This includes the necessary new-build, conversion and renovation measures for 27 educational facilities. The programme covers all types of school and relates to primary, special needs (support) and secondary schools. The Comprehensive School Mitte is to be expanded from four to six forms and is part of the City of Bochum’s school construction programme.
