TENDER DESCRIPTION

Description of the contract Starting situation: The City Council of the State Capital Wiesbaden (LHW) decided on 17 September 2020 to implement the urban development measure “Eastfield” (SEM Eastfield) pursuant to Section 165 of the German Building Code (BauGB) as a statute. The planning area is located in the east of Wiesbaden, in close proximity to the districts of Erbenheim and Mainz-Kastel, and comprises an area of around 450 hectares. The objective of the planning is to create a balanced mix of affordable housing, jobs, open spaces and biotope areas. The aim is to create an innovative and future-proof district with predominantly residential use while also providing sufficient space for commercial activities. On 15 July 2023, the LHW, together with Stadtentwicklungsgesellschaft Wiesbaden (SEG) as the development agency and trustee of the urban development measure Eastfield, commissioned a Europe-wide open two-phase urban and landscape-planning ideas competition as a cooperative procedure.
