TENDER DESCRIPTION

Description of the contract Initial situation: On 17 September 2020, the city council (Stadtverordnetenversammlung) of the State capital Wiesbaden (LHW) resolved to implement the urban development measure “Ostfeld” (SEM Ostfeld) in accordance with § 165 of the German Building Code (Baugesetzbuch, BauGB) as a bylaw. The planning area is located in the east of Wiesbaden, in the immediate vicinity of the districts of Erbenheim and Mainz-Kastel, and comprises an area of around 450 hectares. The aim of the planning is to create a balanced mix of affordable housing, employment, open spaces and biotope areas. The development is intended to create an innovative and future-proof district with predominantly residential use and, at the same time, sufficient space for commercial use. On 15 July 2023, the LHW, together with Stadtentwicklungsgesellschaft Wiesbaden (SEG), the development entity and trustee of the urban development measure Ostfeld, commissioned a Europe-wide open two-phase urban planning and landscape-planning ideas competition as a cooperative procedure.
