Strategies and measures to strengthen the physical protection of critical infrastructures - focus on physical site protection (acronym: KRITIS-Protect) Critical infrastructures (KRITIS) make a significant contribution to the state as a whole by providing critical services. A failure—e.g. of power, water or health care supply—would substantially impair the lives of society as a whole. For this reason, ensuring the protection of critical infrastructures is a core task of state and private-sector security planning. The subject matter of the service is the development of scientific expert information. The expert information is intended to support operators of critical infrastructures and authorities as a recommendation in implementing and deciding on physical site protection measures. In addition, the results obtained in the course of the project are essential for the creation of resilience standards for implementation of the KRITIS DachG.
