TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Spectroscopy Unit, which belongs to the Chemistry Division of the Technology Department, is dedicated to projects aimed at developing and implementing, in different applications, graphene-based materials. The purpose of this contract is the supply, installation and commissioning of an X-ray diffractometer in order to provide state-of-the-art equipment for the X-ray Laboratory belonging to the Spectroscopy Unit, which is included in the recently created Materials Laboratory (LABMAT) under the CIEMAT Strategic Plan. This acquisition will contribute to updating the Unit’s instrumentation and capabilities, which currently face serious limitations due to the lack of instrumentation renewal, and thus meet the growing demand for structural analysis of materials of a wide variety of types. Therefore, the final objective would be to satisfy the structural characterization needs identified during the development of CIEMAT research projects, as well as to resolve problems raised by other bodies or companies through the Technology Transfer Office.
