TENDER DESCRIPTION

The subject of the procurement is endoscopic examinations to be carried out for patients of the Central Ostrobothnia Welfare Area (Keski-Pohjanmaan hyvinvointialue). The examinations include colonoscopies and gastroscopies. The service complements the Welfare Area’s own operations and will be provided by an external service provider. The contract period is three (3) years, and includes an option to continue the contract for two (2) additional option periods of one (1) year each (1 + 1). In the procurement, one (1) service provider will be selected. Implementation of the service: - The examinations shall be carried out in the service provider’s premises within the Soite area. - Patients are referred for examinations based on the assessment of a specialist physician. - The examination fee includes additional procedures (polypectomies, treatment of bleeding, band ligation of hemorrhoids). - At least 90% of the colonoscopies must reach as far as the caecum. - The examinations use carbon dioxide insufflation and, if necessary, intravenous sedation. - Interpretation of PAD (pathology) responses and planning of follow-up care are included in the service. - Photographs are taken of…
