TENDER DESCRIPTION

The federally owned chancellery of the German Embassy in Quito (Ecuador) is located in the building complex "Conjunto Citiplaza" (consisting of three buildings: Citibank, Sheraton Hotel and office tower) in the central urban district and business area La Carolina (Edificio Citiplaza, Av. Nacio-nes Unidas E10-44 y República El Salvador). The Citiplaza building was occupied in 1998; it was built between 1996 and 1998. Here the Federal Republic of Germany, together with the United Kingdom, used the same RK/visa office on the 12th floor until 2016. Later, Germany purchased this area and used it exclusively for the RK/visa office of the German Embassy. Quito, the capital of Ecuador, lies 20 kilometres south of the Equator in an Andean basin at an altitude of 2,850 m and is the highest-capital city in the world. With around 2.7 million inhabitants, it is the largest city in the country. In addition, it is the capital of the canton of the same name and of the province of Pichincha. Quito’s old town is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List.
