The Päijät-Häme Wellbeing Services County procures the provision of a health counselling point for drug users for an indefinite contract period. Estimated start of the contract period: 1.1.2027. The purpose of the health counselling point is to provide services for people who use drugs intravenously. The objectives of the activities include establishing contacts with people who use drugs, preventing and reducing health harms related to drug use, supporting drug users in taking responsibility for their own life and health, as well as supporting the emergence of clients’ treatment motivation and lowering the threshold for seeking treatment. The counselling point operates according to the low-threshold principle, under which clients may visit the counselling point during the usual opening hours under a pseudonym, without booking an appointment, regardless of their municipality of residence, and also when intoxicated.
