TENDER DESCRIPTION

The design target is the Tervo Church, at Kirkkotie 10, 72210 Tervo. The church was completed in 1925 according to the design by architect Ilmari Launis, and it constitutes a culturally and historically significant building complex of national and local importance. Over the decades, the building has been repaired and maintained in several phases so that its original architecture and key distinctive features have been preserved. The project involves the comprehensive development of the existing church building into a multi-purpose church so that the building’s cultural-historical, architectural, and congregational values are preserved. In the design, the objectives of building protection, the currently applicable regulations governing construction, and the congregation’s changing functional needs must be harmonised. The design assignment includes analysing the current condition of the building, preparing alternative solutions, holding the necessary official authority consultations, and preparing buildable plans for applying for a building permit and for tendering the building contract.
