TENDER DESCRIPTION

The aim of the project is the development of a multifunctional, future-proof urban district that offers a mix of private and public uses. The usage concept is centred on public facilities as well as private and commercial uses. The public facilities/uses are a modern city media library as a "third place", a citizens’ office (Bürgerbüro), a citizens’ hall (Bürgersaal) and event spaces that can be used flexibly. The city media library is intended to go far beyond the classic function of a library and serve as a multifunctional meeting point for education, culture and social interaction. The citizens’ office consolidates central administrative services and enables barrier-free access to municipal services. The citizens’ hall and event spaces are designed for cultural, social and education-related events and are intended to enable the widest variety of formats, e.g. concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions, workshops and conferences. The housing offering is specifically targeted at different groups: compact apartments for young professionals, spacious family apartments, and senior-appropriate, barrier-free apartments with service-oriented offerings.
