TENDER DESCRIPTION

The objective of the project is the development of a multifunctional, future-proof urban quarter that offers a mix of private and public uses. At the centre of the concept for use are public facilities as well as private and commercial uses. The public facilities/uses include a modern city media library (“Dritter Ort”/“third place”), a citizens’ office (Bürgerbüro), a citizens’ hall (Bürgersaal) and flexibly usable event spaces. The city media library is intended to go far beyond the classic function of a library and to serve as a multifunctional meeting point for education, culture and social interaction. The citizens’ office bundles central administrative services and enables barrier-free access to municipal services. The citizens’ hall and event spaces are designed for cultural, social and education-related events and are intended to enable a wide range of formats, e.g. concerts, theatrical performances, exhibitions, workshops and conferences.
