The coordination, support, and promotion of volunteers active in various areas is very diverse in the city of Delmenhorst and often organised independently of each other. The city of Delmenhorst recognises the need to consolidate the core tasks of advice and mediation, networking, qualification, and public relations in the different areas of voluntary activities independently of individual areas of deployment and to establish a central volunteer agency to better utilise synergy effects. In addition, measures and projects are to be developed with the establishment of a central volunteer agency that more strongly appreciate and acknowledge civic engagement.
