SWU Stadtwerke Ulm/Neu-Ulm GmbH (SWU) is a municipal utility provider with a group of companies (holding company and six independent subsidiaries). The SWU Group covers the areas of energy, mobility and communications, serving private customers, businesses and municipal partners. The complexity requires a modern, integrated IT solution to efficiently support business processes. The termination of maintenance for the current ERP core system based on SAP ECC (SAP ERP Central Component) by SAP SE makes an extensive transformation project necessary. Its objective is the introduction and operation of the successor solution SAP S/4HANA with the highest possible level of standardization, automation and integration capability. Keep the Core Clean! is the guiding principle. In parallel to this project, an energy industry platform is being introduced and the associated replacement of SAP IS-U based on ECC is being carried out.
