In the context of combating Animal Diseases, waste may become available, such as used personal protective equipment (PPE) and other waste (catering waste, packaging material, bales of straw, scrapped wheelbarrows, feed troughs etc.). After the response, this waste must be removed and processed. In addition, there are Incidents at non-animal-disease level, such as plant health, where waste may become available which must be transported and processed; this also concerns infectious waste, meaning that transport and processing must take place in almost the same manner. The waste that must be transported and processed concerns waste with EWC codes 18.02.02, 18.02.03, 18.01.03 or 18.01.04. This means, among other things, that the collection, transport and processing of this waste are subject to special guidelines in order to prevent infection.
