TENDER DESCRIPTION

The city of Straelen plans for Katharinengrundschule on the school campus at Fontanestraße the new construction of a two-storey grade-level building (JGH GFA 5,573 m²) as well as a two-storey administration wing (GFA 2,944 m²) as an extension to the existing school building (built in 1969 and 1992). Both new buildings will be constructed using timber frame construction. The grade-level building serves cross-school use within the elementary school and includes classrooms as well as all-day areas for the Open All-Day School (OGS) and the reliable half-day (VHT). The administration wing will be primarily used by the teaching staff of the OGS. Two connecting corridors will be built to connect to the existing building, linking the administration wing directly with the existing building parts. The construction project aims to improve the spatial and organizational situation of Katharinengrundschule and to accommodate the increasing number of students.
