TENDER DESCRIPTION

The city of Straelen is planning for the Katharinengrundschule on the school campus at Fontanestraße the construction of a new two-storey grade-level building (JGH GFA 5,573 m²) as well as a two-storey administration wing (GFA 2,944 m²) as an extension to the existing school building (built in 1969 and 1992). Both new buildings will be constructed using timber frame construction. The grade-level building serves cross-school use within the primary school and includes classrooms as well as all-day areas for the Open All-Day School (OGS) and the reliable half-day (VHT). The administration wing will be primarily used by the teaching staff of the OGS. To connect to the existing building, two connecting corridors will be built, directly linking the administration wing with the existing building parts. The construction project aims to improve the spatial and organizational situation of the Katharinengrundschule and to accommodate the rising number of pupils.
