TENDER DESCRIPTION

The city of Straelen plans for the Katharinengrundschule on the school campus at Fontanestraße the new construction of a two-storey year group building (JGH GFA 5,573 m²) as well as a two-storey administration wing (GFA 2,944 m²) as an annex to the existing school building (year of construction 1969 and 1992). Both new buildings will be constructed using timber frame construction. The year group building serves cross-school use within the primary school and includes teaching as well as all-day areas for the open all-day school (OGS) and the reliable half-day (VHT). The administration wing will be primarily used by the teaching staff of the OGS. To connect to the existing building, two connecting corridors will be built, directly linking the administration wing with the existing parts of the building. The construction project aims to improve the spatial and organizational situation of the Katharinengrundschule and to accommodate the increasing number of students.
