TENDER DESCRIPTION

The city of Straelen plans for the Katharinengrundschule on the school campus at Fontanestraße the new construction of a two-story year-group building (JGH GFA 5,573 m²) as well as a two-story administration wing (GFA 2,944 m²) as an extension to the existing school building (built in 1969 and 1992). Both new buildings will be constructed using timber frame construction. The year-group building serves cross-school use within the elementary school and includes classrooms as well as full-day areas for the open all-day school (OGS) and the reliable half-day (VHT). The administration wing is primarily used by the teaching staff of the OGS. To connect to the existing building, two connecting corridors will be built, which will directly link the administration wing with the existing building sections. The construction project aims to improve the spatial and organizational situation of the Katharinengrundschule and to accommodate the increasing number of students.
