TENDER DESCRIPTION
The city of Bruchsal plans the construction and operation of a flood retention basin in the Saalbachtal between the Bruchsal district of Helmsheim and the municipality of Gondelsheim. The area lies within the cadastral districts of the city of Bruchsal, the city of Bretten, and the municipality of Gondelsheim. The planned basin is designed for protection in the event of a 100-year flood and covers a retention area of approx. 22 ha with a net retention volume of 380,000 m³. The project constitutes an intervention in nature and landscape pursuant to § 14 para. 1 BNatSchG in conjunction with § 14 para. 1 NatSchG Baden-Württemberg. The intervention must be compensated in accordance with § 15 para. 2 BNatSchG and § 15 para. 2 NatSchG. Therefore, comprehensive ecological investigations were carried out in parallel with the approval phase, and all necessary measures were recorded in an EIA report with an integrated landscape management accompanying plan.
